The Minnesota Farmers Union is holding its annual state convention this weekend in Minneapolis.
Minnesota Farmers Union President Doug Peterson says some of the policy issues he expects they’ll discuss Saturday and Sunday will include health care, climate change, and fair pricing for livestock and grain production.
Peterson is running for re-election unopposed. Four people are running for the seat being vacated by the group’s longtime vice president, Dennis Sjodin (shun-DEEN’).
The Minnesota Farmers Union says speakers are expected to include Minnesota Agriculture Commissioner Gene Hugoson and U.S. Rep. Jim Oberstar, who will give the keynote speech.
