Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong was rushed to the hospital this weekend, forcing the band to cancel a concert in Bologna, Italy and was released this morning.
The band had to cancel the concert. His fellow band members, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool, did not specify the nature of Armstrong's illness, but said they were "beyond devastated" and would make up the concert next summer.
Specifics on Armstrong's health were not released, but WENN according to local reports, the singer suffered "gastric problems" and also report that some Italian fans found themselves in trouble when they tried to visit Armstrong in the hospital.
The band has three albums coming out, titled "Uno!", "Dos!" and "Tre!" "Uno!" is due out Sept. 25.
