So in what was supposed to be an interview regarding her upcoming move "Liz & Dick", Lindsey Lohan was all set to sit down with the Iconic Barbara Walters.

UNTIL, Lindsey's 'handlers' thought better of it because they were afraid Barbara would begin answering questions about OTHER things going on in Lohan's Life.

Her Parents.

Her Arrests.

An upcoming hearing regarding a rear-ender she was in...

Oh the list is long.

SO.. the 'handlers' called Barbara at the last minute and said:  "Uh.. No thanks Babs.  We're gonna do the interview... but with Jay Leno!"

Well you KNOW Mrs. Walters isn't gonna take THAT lying down!  She's a BIT peeved.

Barbara spoke out on "The View" this morning, saying, "If they'd said to me 'You know, Barbara, she isn't up to the kinds of questions that you might ask' ... If they had told me that, I wouldn't feel quite as disappointed as I do today."

Oh IT just got REAL!
