It’s coming up on the one-year anniversary of Crisco’s beloved dog Babe’s death. Any regular listener of our show knows how close Babe and Crisco are. Babe was Crisco’s soulmate, his support system, his rock, his best friend, and simply, his everything. Babe’s passing was sudden and completely unexpected. It rocked us all, but of course it shattered Crisco’s world. There was a dark cloud that hovered over this entire station and knew we had to do something. Long story short, we came up with Buck$ for Babe. Partnering with Secondhand Hounds (a nonprofit animal rescue organization) listeners could donate to Buck$ for Babe and help rescue more animals. And donate our listeners did! With a large donation from Spire Credit Union to kick things off, listeners immediately started donating and in just a handful of days you guys helped us raise over $100,000!! With your generosity and hard work you helped us rescue thousands of animals. Because of that, all together we won the “Service to America Award”. A prestigious award that honors the impact and excellence in community service and philanthropy by local radio and television stations across the country. Crisco and Dez headed to Washington D.C. to accept the award on behalf of all of us. United States Senator Amy Klobuchar was right alongside to introduce them.
