Last night, the Broadway community joined together for a star-studded virtual birthday celebration for the one and only Stephen Sondheim! Actors and Broadway stars joined forces via video call to pay tribute to the acclaimed American composer! Sure, there were a lot of big names in attendance like Jake Gyllenhaal, Kelli O’Hara, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Platt, Victor Garber, Beanie Feldstein, Patti Lupone, Jason Alexander and Neil Patrick Harris just to name a few. But the real gasp came when Meryl Streep appeared on the screen! Streep was joined by Audra McDonald, and Christine Baranski to sing a booze-fuelled version of “Ladies Who Lunch,” from Sondheim’s Broadway musical Company.
